Assistant Professor of Epidemiology
The University of California, Berkeley, School of Public Health is seeking highly qualified candidates for an Assistant Professor tenure track faculty position beginning July 1, 2018.
We seek an epidemiologist for research, education (undergraduate and graduate level) and service. We are most interested in building on our current areas of epidemiologic strength, including social epidemiology, infectious diseases, genetics/genomics, environmental health sciences, chronic/non-communicable diseases, nutrition, maternal-child health, lifecourse epidemiology, and the use of technology for disease monitoring and intervention. In addition, the School of Public Health seeks candidates whose research, teaching, and/or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional potential for an extramurally-funded research program and a commitment to teaching excellence.

The Graduate Group in Epidemiology has a longstanding reputation for excellence in diverse disciplines within epidemiology, including social determinants of health; infectious diseases; cancer, genetics and environmental influences on health; nutrition; maternal-child health; global health; and modern causal inference methods. Faculty have active research programs addressing these areas of epidemiology in the U.S. and in low- and middle-income countries. The doctoral training program has for many years been one of the top ranked PhD programs nationally in epidemiology, attracting outstanding students from around the world.

Applicants must have PhD degree in epidemiology or related field in public health (ScD, DrPh, MD or equivalent degree) at the time of application.
Candidates must have post-doctoral training and experience in epidemiology by the date of hire.
