Summary
Are you interested in advancing health equity and having a global impact? The University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis (UHSP) recently made a multi-million dollar investment to launch the College of Global Population Health, the first of its kind in the US with a global emphasis on population health. The vision of the college is to transform the health outcomes of populations near and far to create a more equitable future for all.

We are hiring a team of founding faculty and staff to develop our academic programs, promote interdisciplinary research that advances health equity, and engage with communities worldwide to address locally identified needs. The college offers undergraduate degree programs in public health, data science, and healthcare administration management, along with a master's degree and graduate certificates in global health and equity.

We are seeking a 12 month non-tenure track faculty position in public health with a majority teaching responsibility (60%) and equal effort towards research (20%) and service (20%), which includes community engagement.
  • A majority of the service effort will include serving as the founding Program Director for the BS in Public Health degree in which the College is pursuing the Council for Education and Public Health (CEPH) accreditation. As Program Director, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with faculty and other administrative units across the University to promote, recruit for, and evaluate the program. An administrative stipend is provided for service as Program Director.
  • You will teach up to three classes per semester at both the undergraduate and graduate level, including electives, with a focus on developing new public health courses. Responsible for coordinating courses and working with learning management systems.
  • For research, you should contribute to collaborative research that aligns with your other responsibilities and is encouraged to pursue extramural funding.


Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Doctorate degree in public health related field (i.e. epidemiology, biostatistics, health policy management, maternal and child health, global health, implementation science, community health, etc.). Consideration will be given to candidates with Master's degrees with exceptional experience, other education or special credentialing, or unique to special backgrounds.
  • Interdisciplinary research experience, locally and/or globally
  • Champion of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Desire to be part of and contribute to a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive startup environment that strengthens a sense of belonging for all: flexible, collaborative, team-oriented, with strong project management
  • Community engagement and partnership development experience with diverse stakeholders
